Reflecting on 2022 | Terrera
Another year has come and gone! We are so thankful for this past year, and are excited to begin a new journey in 2023.
Before jumping into the new year, we like to sit back and reflect on our brand over the last year. 2022 had its challenges, but overall was a fantastic year. From our Earth Award to our Save Big, Give Back event, we strived to give back to our amazing community, all with your help!
We love our community and we are committed to giving back. Below, we’ve outlined a recap of our 2022 initiatives!
The Terrera Earth Award is an annual award recognizing the outstanding contributions of Canadian women in the community. We support the winner with a $1000 grant for a community initiative, project, social enterprise or business that is making a positive impact in our world!
This past year, our winner was Lauren, a graduate student working on a research project to combat salt contamination. Canada is one of the largest users of road salt worldwide. Each year over 5 million tonnes of salt are distributed on roads to melt snow and ice. She is working towards a more sustainable remediation process, with long term goals of creating change.
Save Big, Give Back
Every November, Terrera hosts its Save Big, Give Back event where we commit to donating 10% of all online sales made on terrera.ca to a selected charity.
This year, we partnered with YWCA Canada, a charitable voluntary organization, which serves as the national coordinating body for the YWCA movement in Canada.
Clothing Donations
Diabetes Canada
During 2022, Terrera has donated over 400 units of products to Diabetes Canada. They work to help millions of Canadians affected by diabetes understand it, manage it, and combat complications since 1953.
Ukrainian Family
Additionally, the Terrera staff contributed clothing, shoes, and personal items to a displaced Ukrainian family who fled the Ukrainian war in June 2022.
Giving back is at the core of Terrera, and we couldn’t have made all the contributions to our Canadian community without your continued support! We want to thank you for your loyalty during this past year. We cannot wait for all the possibilities that this year, 2023, will bring, and are excited to share this journey with you.
