Who Made Your Clothes?

At Terrera, we believe that our purpose is to live a life filled with love for one another. We deeply care about the well-being and protection of all our workers involved with producing our clothing from start to finish, and this is why we are a part of Fashion Revolution.

Fashion Revolution is a global movement that “unite[s] people and organisations to work together towards radically changing the way our clothes are sourced, produced and consumed, so that our clothing is made in a safe, clean and fair way.” As a brand, we want to restore the environment and care for our people. We commit to playing our part in being the change that the fashion industry needs.

In light of the current global pandemic, many brands have had to close its storefronts and cancel large orders with overseas suppliers and factories, causing millions of global workers to fall further into social and financial insecurity. It is more important than ever to realize that every decision has a human and environmental impact. We need to put an end to fast-fashion and overconsumption. This starts by caring for each item of clothing we buy and extending its life in our closets. For fashion brands, it means producing fewer but better pieces and using more sustainable materials to protect the environment and the workers that need to handle the fabric and dyes.

At Terrera we are proud of the long-term relationships that we’ve built with our partners. Our factories are located in well developed cities of China with strong infrastructure and wage policies already in place. These factories are located near the source of our sustainable raw materials. We never work with sweatshops or unethical manufacturers. This is an important aspect of our company philosophy.

Through our annual audits, we ensure that our partners are paying all employees fair wages and benefits mandated by provincial law, and that there is no use of forced or child labourers. We have all of our suppliers sign and reaffirm our Code of Conduct annually to adhere to these requirements and we continually do inspections and audits to ensure compliance.

During this global pandemic, we have not cancelled any orders and we have honoured payments to every partner that supplies and manufactures our fabric, clothing, and packaging. We are committed to going through this global pandemic together and to make sure our workers are taken care of. All of this has been possible because we have conscious customers like you who continue to support us through this difficult time.
