A Guide For Transitioning Your Summer Wardrobe To Fall
One way to be more sustainable in your life is to make sure we are not overconsuming or over buying. It’s nice to treat ourselves to new items every now and then, but it’s important to first go through what you have, and what you need.
When a new season rolls around, it can be tempting to shop for a whole new wardrobe. We think it’s important to freshen your wardrobe when needed, but to make sure the new pieces are sustainable and durable - that way these pieces are core items that will last a long time and not need replacing, or fall out of fashion.
We’ve recently launched our Fall/Winter 2022 collection with styles and a colour palette with this in mind. We wanted to create pieces that will match and coordinate with what we already have in our closets. Timeless styles that can be carried and transitioned over to the next season!
We’ve outlined some pieces below that are great to have in your wardrobe for transitioning from Summer to Fall weather.
1. Brooke Jumpsuit
Our Brooke Jumpsuit is a great example of a perfect transitional piece. Since it is fabricated from our bamboo French terry, it’s warm enough for the Fall but not too warm in the Summer. It can be worn with different layers - a long sleeve for Fall, or short sleeve for Summer. When transitioning this piece for the cooler seasons, easily pair it with a thermal long sleeve top, like our Aurora Seamless Long Sleeve top. If there’s a chill in the air, add your favourite cardigan as a coverup!
2. Joanna Mock Neck Dress
September can be confusing when it comes to the weather - rainy one minute, sunny the next! Dressing for the weather can be a task - but it doesn’t have to be! A long sleeve dress can be worn with or without leggings to add some warmth for those cooler September days. Our new Joanna Mock Neck Dress is a great option - it has long sleeves, a mock neck, and is made of cooling bamboo fabric. If you don’t have a long sleeve dress, try layering a long sleeve under a spaghetti strap dress to achieve the same look! It’s a perfect way to transition those cute Summer dresses into the Fall weather.
3. Dion Pant
The Dion Cropped Pant was our favourite Summer pant, so we knew we needed to style it for the Fall to get the most wear out of this piece! These pants make a great office outfit - pair them with a long sleeve thermal shirt and a cardigan for a put together look suitable for back to work! Or pair them with a hoodie for added comfort and lounging around the home. Although these pants are cropped, they are made from our medium-weight bamboo French terry fabric, so they’ll keep you warm as the temperature cools!
4. Lucy Cardigan
Having a go-to cardi for the cooler weather is so important - especially for layering other transitional pieces! A great cardigan can make any Summer piece a Fall one. A great cardigan is one that is versatile in the ways you can wear it! Our Lucy Shawl Collar Cardigan is a new piece to the Fall collection and is just this - it can be worn open for a water-fall effect cardigan, or closed with it’s metal closure to create an asymmetric wrapped cardigan look which also adds warmth.
5. Kenzie Vest
Cardigans are great for the cool weather, but sometimes they can get too warm while indoors. It’s great to have a lighter option to cover up once the heat comes on! Layer our Kenzie Vest with a long sleeve for a unique touch to a basic look. It drapes beautifully and pairs well with leggings, jeans, or over a long sleeve dress (like our Joanna Mock Neck Dress)!
